Casablanca Approves Third-Floor Construction in Aïn Chock District

It is now possible to build a third floor on buildings located in several neighborhoods of the Aïn Chock district in Casablanca.
The neighborhoods of Moulay Abdellah, Marbouha, Ferdous, Mostaqbal, Insaf, and many others are no longer deprived of the right to a third floor. The municipality of Casablanca has obtained approval from the Urban Agency for the construction of a third floor on buildings located along certain streets, particularly those with a width equal to or greater than 10 meters. The development plan for the Aïn Chock district has thus been modified to the delight of building owners located along the streets.
The new development plan project is the result of long advocacy with the Urban Agency, to allow residents of several neighborhoods in Aïn Chock to build three floors, a demand made by residents on several occasions, explained to Hespress the deputy mayor of Casablanca in charge of urban planning, who is also the president of the Aïn Chock district.
Arguing that this right - suspended for years - is fully legitimate for the residents, he specified that it is a decision "which is not a gift from anyone, but the result of tenacity." Its obtainment, he said, results from rigorous monitoring and continuous perseverance. What about its impact? This measure should contribute to increasing the number of residential constructions and encourage investment in the region from real estate developers.
