Casablanca Airport Forms Task Force to Address Transit Baggage Delays
Friday 12 January 2024, by
Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, in collaboration with Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and the National Airports Office (ONDA), has just created a special team to improve baggage handling in transit.
For a week now, Terminal 1 of the Casablanca airport, used by RAM and its partners, has been experiencing problems in processing transit baggage. These difficulties are due to new control procedures, causing significant delays.
To solve this problem, the airport has set up a coordination cell. This team includes RAM Handling and other airport partners, such as the Royal Gendarmerie, the DGSN and Customs. Their goal is to speed up the process and return to a normal situation as soon as possible.
The measures taken include increasing staff, using new baggage sorting and control areas in Terminals T2 and T3, and training agents on the automatic baggage sorting system in T1.
ONDA and RAM assure affected passengers that their teams, in close collaboration with all stakeholders, are working to ensure that baggage reaches its final destinations quickly.
