New Leadership Appointed to Tackle Baggage Issues at Casablanca Airport

The National Airports Office (ONDA) is going all out on the modernization of its infrastructure and the strengthening of its teams. Two new heads have just been appointed to the Air Navigation Division. At the Casablanca airport, they are tackling the baggage issue.
Hassan Fahmi, with 34 years of experience, takes over the operations. An air traffic control specialist, he has notably worked at the Casablanca Regional Control Center. Fouad Naji, an air safety engineer and electronics specialist, becomes technical director. With 25 years of experience at ONDA, he has led structures in charge of the development of radio navigation equipment.
The Mohammed V airport in Casablanca is also undergoing major changes. Hicham Rahil has been appointed as its director and will oversee the modernization of the infrastructure. A major project aimed at revamping the baggage handling system and optimizing the delivery area is planned. The goal is to improve the passenger experience and prepare the airport for the challenges of 2030.
ONDA is making considerable efforts to maintain a high level of performance: modernization of infrastructure, adoption of cutting-edge technologies, team training... These actions aim to ensure the safety and fluidity of air traffic.
On many occasions, the Casablanca airport and, more particularly, Royal Air Maroc have been the target of scathing criticism from national or international travelers regarding the problems of receiving or losing baggage. This was particularly the case for a Moroccan living in the United States who had expressed his frustration after losing luggage containing medicines. He had then denounced the incompetence and insensitivity of the staff, after several days of waiting.
