CAF Eliminates DR Congo from U23 AFCON After Morocco’s Appeal

It is not thanks to a victory on the field but through an appeal filed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) that Morocco obtained a favorable outcome against the team of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This Wednesday, the Moroccan federation received a letter from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in response to the appeal filed a few days ago regarding the match between the U23 National Team and its DRC counterpart as part of the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations U23, Egypt.
And well, hold on tight, the disciplinary commission decided to eliminate the DRC selection from the current edition of the U23 CAN and to suspend the Congolese Football Association from participating in the next edition of this competition.
The FRMF had filed an appeal against the DRC accusing it of having fielded on the pitch the player Arsène Zola who exceeded the age of 23 years.
