Bystander Killed Trying to Stop Domestic Assault in Moroccan Town

A terrible tragedy occurred this Sunday morning in Zaïda, in the province of Midelt. A man in his forties lost his life by intervening in a domestic dispute that escalated.
According to local sources, a couple were violently arguing in the main street of Zaïda. The husband, in an uncontrollable rage, stabbed his wife in the abdomen.
Witnessing the scene, a waiter from a neighboring café intervened to try to calm the spirits. Unfortunately, the aggressor turned against him and fatally stabbed him. The victim died a few minutes later.
According to the same sources, the husband was in an altered state and tried to end his own life by ingesting a toxic and flammable product after the assault.
The victim leaves behind a wife and four children. The body of the deceased was transferred to the Midelt morgue, while the injured woman was taken care of at the hospital. The perpetrator of the acts was placed in custody and an investigation was opened by the competent authorities.
