Land Dispute in Morocco Turns Deadly: Woman Killed in Settat Region

It all started with a dispute between the victim and a family in the region over a plot of agricultural land, the victim’s father tells Al3omk, emphasizing that his daughter holds all the legal documents proving she is the owner of this land. According to him, the dispute erupted after his daughter asked the family in question to leave the plot where they were grazing sheep.

Faced with the family’s refusal, the victim filed two complaints with the king’s prosecutor, the father added. After filing the first complaint, she returned to the plot to ask the family to vacate the premises. But they opposed, which led to a new altercation during which a family member threatened her with a large bladed weapon.

The incident escalated after the victim ran over sheep grazing on the disputed land with her car. In response, the family threw stones at her vehicle, which was seriously damaged. After that, the victim was arrested by law enforcement and then released after four hours of questioning. Following these events, the victim was violently assaulted with an iron bar and stabbed to death with a knife.

Another woman who was accompanying her, seriously injured, is fighting for her life.
