Brussels-Zaventem: Despite the crises, Morocco remains the unbeatable safe haven for Belgian travelers

Brussels Airport ended the month of March with a total of 1,767,797 travelers. This attendance was driven by the carnival holidays, even though the context in the Middle East slowed down growth. The absence of flights to Tel Aviv and Doha, added to the reduction of the offer to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, resulted in a loss of 50,000 passengers.

To these difficulties was added a national demonstration on March 12. According to the Belga agency, this social movement led to the cancellation of 359 flights and disrupted the travel of 30,000 people. Despite these setbacks, cargo activity remains solid with an 8.8% increase in volumes, reaching 75,000 tons of goods processed during the month.

The platform continues to develop, however, with the integration of new airlines such as Air China and Volotea. Morocco remains one of the pillars of this traffic, as it ranks among the ten most popular destinations, alongside Spain, Italy or France. The Kingdom thus confirms its status as a safe bet for passengers departing from Brussels.
