Brussels Airport Sees Best Month Since Pandemic as Morocco Flights Resume

The reopening of Moroccan airspace is one of the factors that allowed Brussels Airport to achieve good performance in June since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Brussels Airport has announced that June was its best month. In total, 646,589 people traveled through Brussels-National Airport. A good performance recorded since the start of the health crisis in March 2020. Compared to June 2019, this figure represents a 73% decrease.
Attendance "gradually increased throughout the month, from 19% the first week to 35% the last week," reports Belga. Departing passengers are more numerous than arriving passengers. The most popular destinations are: Spain and Portugal - largely turned red since -, Italy, Greece, Turkey or France.
These results were achieved thanks to the introduction of new flights by Brussels Airlines, the lifting of the air exclusion zone in Morocco in mid-June and the start of the holidays.
