British Travel Agents Explore Marrakech’s Tourism Potential in 4-Day Trip

17 British travel agents, including 11 women, stayed in Marrakech from March 5 to 8, to discover the city and the surrounding municipalities.
According to the Regional Tourism Council, this "educational tour" is an exploration and discovery trip of the various natural, cultural, heritage and tourist potentials, as part of the efforts to promote the Marrakech destination and its region. It was initiated by the Representation of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) in the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Marrakech-Safi.
According to the CRT, the objective of this "educational tour" is to introduce the British travel agents to the Marrakech destination and its surroundings, under the "City Break" theme, with a focus on "cultural" and "Adventure" niche products.
During these three days, the agents benefited from a series of visits to tourist establishments, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, the Majorelle Gardens, the "Terres d’Amanar" site in the Al Haouz province, the mythical Jemaa El Fna Square, as well as several souks and iconic spaces in the city. They also broadcast live on social networks the adventures of their trip for the promotion of the ochre city.
It should be noted that the number of British tourists in Marrakech in 2019 stood at 204,592, up 11% for 921,421 overnight stays (8%).
