British Murder Suspect Arrested at Moroccan Port After Hiding in Truck from Spain

The elements of the National Security Service on duty at the port of Tanger Med arrested a British national wanted for murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
Actively sought by the British justice system, the man thought he would illegally enter Morocco to escape the justice of his country. To deceive the vigilance of the Moroccan police, he hid in a trailer attached to an international road transit truck coming from a Spanish port, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
At the control post, he presented documents attesting that he is a 33-year-old Maltese national. But during the authentication of his identity, the police realized that he was in fact a 42-year-old British national wanted by the British justice system for "serious crimes", the DGSN continues.
He was immediately taken into custody for the judicial investigation in order to determine all the criminal acts with which he is charged on national territory. Likewise, the Moroccan authorities have contacted Great Britain to initiate the procedure concerning the extradition of the suspect, in accordance with the relevant conventions and legal texts.
