Brazilian Authorities Seize 1.3 Tons of Cocaine in Sugar Shipment Bound for Morocco

Brazilian customs officers seized, on Tuesday, November 26, 1,347 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a cargo of sugar. The goods, which were supposed to leave the port of Santos, in Sao Paulo, had Morocco as their final destination.
According to the statement from the Brazilian customs office, it involves 120 bags of sugar hidden in two of the five containers, reports Prensa Latina.
According to the travel documents, the cargo, which was supposed to be unloaded at the port of Tanger-Med in Morocco, was going to change its itinerary.
In total, 47.1 tons of cocaine have been seized by the Brazilian authorities, between January and October, compared to 31.5 tons last year.
Far ahead of the port of Paranaguá (south, 13.5), Natal (northeast, 4.4) and Itajaí (south, 3.7), the port of Santos, with 18.9 tons, is by far the first in terms of drug seizures.
