Border Bust: Frenchman Caught Smuggling Hashish in Car at Morocco-Spain Crossing
Customs agents, in collaboration with Moroccan police forces, arrested on Monday at the Bab Sebta border post, on the Moroccan side, a Frenchman in possession of 10 kilos of hashish, carefully hidden in his car.
The defendant, aged 32 and originally from the city of Metz, was driving a Renault Megane vehicle registered in France, in which the drugs, hidden in the nooks and crannies of the dashboard and front bumper, were found after a thorough inspection.
After his arrest, the Frenchman was taken to the headquarters of the judicial police brigade in Tetouan. An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to determine if other people are involved in this drug trafficking. The vehicle and the drugs were seized.
