Bordeaux Midfielder Mehdi Zerkane Chooses Algeria National Team Over Morocco and France

Between France, Morocco and Algeria, Mehdi Zerkane, 21, has chosen to wear the jerseys of the Greens. The player discusses the reasons behind his choice.
"I could have chosen Morocco or France, because of my origins, but I did indeed choose Algeria. [...] It’s a childhood dream! A dream that I’ve had since I was little because, when I was eight years old, I said to myself: One day, I’ll play for Algeria!", said the Girondins de Bordeaux player in an interview with Foot Express.
Born in France (Clermont-Ferrand) to an Algerian father and a Moroccan mother, Mehdi had to choose between the national teams of these three countries. He ended up joining the Fennecs. His ambition is to gain playing time, show his qualities and last in this team with which he intends to take on challenges.
