Blinken Visits Morocco: US-Morocco Partnership Strengthens Amid Diplomatic Talks

On a visit to Morocco since Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was received on Tuesday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita. On the agenda of the exchanges between the two men, the strategies to be adopted to make the most of the partnership between the two countries.

During the press conference held after this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the partnership between Morocco and the United States is "strong, ambitious, and developed". He also confided that his exchanges with the Secretary of State aim to "consolidate bilateral ties" based on "common interests and values".
Taking advantage of this meeting, the two officials discussed the positive results of the decades-old partnership between Morocco and the United States. "A partnership that goes beyond the bilateral and includes other regions such as the Middle East, Africa and many others," Bourita affirmed.
Addressing the other important aspects of this partnership, Nasser Bourita declared that "the kingdom and its American ally currently aim to develop and transform this partnership into real opportunities and concrete projects". While supporting the words of his host, Antony Blinken stated that "the ambition of his country in the Sahara is to improve the living conditions of the populations of the southern provinces, while creating economic opportunities".
For the US Secretary of State, the United States aims to help Morocco overcome the crisis impacting several sectors even more. After congratulating Morocco for its considerable efforts, Blinken reiterated his country’s commitment to "work with Morocco" in various fields in order to strengthen human rights, economic and investment opportunities, and create opportunities in the fields of ecology and renewable energy.
