Moroccan Foreign Minister to Visit Israel, Elevating Diplomatic Ties

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, will soon travel to Israel as part of a working visit.
"We are expecting Nasser Bourita for an important working visit soon and we are counting on this trip to raise the level of our bilateral relations with the opening of embassies," instead of the current liaison offices, an Israeli government source said anonymously to Le360. According to the same source, this working visit will be marked by the opening of the Moroccan embassy in Israel.
This trip by the Moroccan Foreign Minister is "soon," the source added, citing Israel’s desire to consolidate cooperation in all areas with Morocco, including security and military. "Cooperation is the main objective of the Abraham Accords signed in December 2020 between Morocco, the United States and Israel," the source said.
According to the same source, Israeli Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, during her visit to Morocco, reaffirmed to her Moroccan interlocutors Israel’s determination to expand cooperation beyond politics, investments, agriculture, tourism and energy to include the employment of Moroccan workers in the housing and health sectors. "This is a project that is progressing well," the government source affirmed.
