Israel and Morocco Agree to Send Construction and Nursing Workers Within a Month

The Israeli and Moroccan authorities have agreed to send "within a month" Moroccan workers from the construction and nursing sectors to Israel.
The decision was made during the official visit to Rabat of the Israeli Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked, during which she exchanged with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita. "The objective is to start bringing Moroccan workers from the nursing and construction sectors to Israel within a month," said the Israeli minister.

On the occasion of this meeting held on Friday, Ayelet Shaked "expressed for the first time Israel’s support for Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara," reports La Nation, specifying that the visit of the Israeli minister comes in the midst of the African Lion 2022 military exercise organized by the United States and Morocco, and in which about fifteen countries, including Israel, are participating for the first time.

Israel and Morocco normalized their diplomatic relations in December 2020, as part of the Abraham Accords, a process of rapprochement between Israel and several Arab countries, under the aegis of the United States which in return recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
