Belgian Aerospace Firm Sabca Opens $18 Million Aircraft Factory in Morocco

The Belgian aeronautical manufacturer Sabca (Société Anonyme Belge de Constructions Aéronautiques) is strengthening its activities in Morocco with the inauguration in Nouaceur of a new factory. It will provide the essential metallic and composite aerostructures for the manufacture and assembly, the design of actuation equipment for the general aviation sector.

Built on an area of 16,000 m², this new factory was inaugurated on Wednesday, November 23 and will generate 240 new jobs. Its implementation cost Sabca 180 million dirhams. On this occasion, the company’s management presented the first delivery of the first PC-12 aircraft made for a customer.

"This installation marks a new era for the Moroccan aeronautical industry with the launch of a pioneering activity in our country, which consists of the design, manufacture and almost complete assembly of the structure of an aircraft," said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Taoufiq Moucharraf.

For his part, Stéphane Burton, CEO of Orizio, Sabca’s parent company, explained that the strengthening of his company was made possible thanks to the policy established by the kingdom, promoting the development of the aeronautical ecosystem on its soil, assuring that the Orizio group is part of this long-term policy and has made the Kingdom of Morocco one of its main sites for its industrial activities and is delighted with the partnership.

"With customers such as Airbus, Pilatus, Daher or Dassault, Sabca Morocco makes a valuable contribution to the range of equipment developed by SABCA, by offering solutions in terms of assembly, painting, equipment, multiple tests, and electrical components. By virtue of this new installation, the Belgian group confirms its establishment in Morocco and its development strategy based on a diversified offer," he concluded.
