Bayern Munich Player Faces Legal Action Over Pro-Palestinian Social Media Post
The president of the German-Israeli Association, Volker Beck, said he had filed a complaint against the Moroccan defender of Bayern Munich, Noussair Mazraoui, for his pro-Palestinian post on Instagram.
Volker Beck told the Bild newspaper that he had filed a complaint against Noussair Mazraoui with the Munich police and prosecutor’s office for his pro-Palestinian message on social media. "The statement ’help our oppressed brothers in Palestine to win’ can only be understood as an approval of Hamas’ actions after the massacre of October 7," Beck said.
The former Green MP described Bayern’s handling of this matter, which decided not to sanction Mazraoui, as "pathetic". "I hope that justice will make the club’s leaders aware of the magnitude of the incident," he said. "Noussair Mazraoui will remain on the FC Bayern team, but is currently absent due to an injury he suffered in an international match with the Moroccan national team," the Bavarian club said.
