Bayern Munich Vows to Prevent Pro-Palestinian Posts by Players After Mazraoui Controversy

Bayern Munich will take measures to prevent pro-Palestinian publications like that of Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui on social media in the future, club president Herbert Hainer has assured.
"We have to draw the right lessons as a club. Such a publication should not happen again," Hainer said in an interview with the Abendzeitung newspaper.
To recall, Noussair Mazraoui had shared a post on his Instagram account to support Palestine, a week after the Hamas attack against Israel on October 7 and the Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip in retaliation. In this post, the Moroccan defender stated his opposition to "any kind of terrorism".
After this controversial post, the Moroccan international was summoned by the club’s management, but no sanction was subsequently imposed on him. A lack of reaction from the club denounced by the Central Council of Jews in Germany, who believe that Bayern should have sanctioned the player, especially since the club condemned the Hamas attack.
Mazraoui played Tuesday’s match against Galatasaray in the Champions League. Hainer said he had spoken with him and Israeli Daniel Peretz, the reserve team’s goalkeeper, after the game. "It was a good open conversation. We sat down together, Daniel and us, we understood each other. This is an important sign," he said.
