Bayern’s Mazraoui Meets Jewish Leaders After Palestine Post Controversy

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui met with representatives of the Jewish community in Munich. A meeting that comes after the controversy sparked by the Bayern Munich player’s support for Palestine.
At the initiative of Bayern Munich, the Moroccan right-back recently met with representatives of the Jewish community in Munich, including the former president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Charlotte Knobloch, and the politician Peter Guttmann, at the Jewish Community Center in Munich, in the presence of Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, reports the DailySports website. Nothing has leaked out of this meeting. "As everyone has agreed to keep the content confidential, we ask you to understand that we cannot provide more details," said Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Jewish community of Munich and Upper Bavaria at the end of the meeting, while expressing her support for FC Bayern, which considers the dialogue as a positive step.
The holding of this meeting follows a complaint filed by German Green politician Volker Beck with the Munich police and prosecutor’s office against Noussair Mazraoui for his pro-Palestinian post. In a video posted on Instagram showing the image of a Palestinian flag waved, accompanied by a voiceover resembling a prayer: "God help our persecuted brothers in Palestine, so that they may be victorious. May God have mercy on the dead, may God heal the wounded," he wished "victory" to the Palestinians. The president of the German-Israeli association considers the Moroccan defender’s support for the Palestinian cause as the "glorification of a crime." "The approval of crimes against humanity is a punishable offense," he stressed.
After criticizing the way FC Bayern handled the situation, Beck expressed the hope that the legal proceedings would make the club’s leaders aware of the seriousness of the matter.
