Bayern Munich’s Mazraoui Makes Triumphant Return After COVID-19 Setback

After more than a month of absence due to complications related to Covid, Noussair Mazraoui made his return to the field with Bayern Munich on Saturday, March 11, during the match against Augsburg. He was applauded by the Bavarian supporters.
Delivering a very good performance, the Atlas Lion had to suspend his adventure in Qatar after suffering from complications related to Covid-19. An inflammation of the pericardium that led to his absence for nearly 50 days. It was with joy and under the ovations of the Allianz Arena that the Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui came on as a substitute in the 78th minute, replacing Alphonso Davies.
A promising return as the club won against Augsburg (5-3) and maintains its lead in the standings after the 24th matchday of the Bundesliga. In early February, the Moroccan defender had returned to training and was warmly applauded by his teammates.
Noussair Mazraoui was transferred to Bayern Munich in May 2022 from Ajax Amsterdam for a four-year contract. At the age of 24, he has signed for an annual salary of 8 million euros.
