Bayern Munich’s Mazraoui Returns to Training After COVID-19 Complications

After more than a month’s absence due to illness, Noussair Mazraoui is back in training at Bayern Munich. The Moroccan player was loudly applauded by his teammates.
Infected with Covid19, Noussair Mazraoui had suffered from pericardial inflammation, leading to his absence for several weeks. This explains the warm welcome he received from his teammates.
According to Bild, Mazraoui continues to train individually and could, if all goes well, rejoin the group in a few days. There is a good chance that he will be a starter for the first leg in the Champions League round of 16 against Paris SG on February 14.
The 24-year-old right-back joined Bayern Munich in May 2022 from Ajax Amsterdam on a four-year contract. The Atlas Lion has signed for an annual salary of 8 million euros.
