Bayern’s Mazraoui Sidelined 4-6 Weeks with Post-COVID Heart Inflammation

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui received the support of his fans who learned that he had contracted Covid-19 during his participation in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. In turn, he expressed his gratitude to them.
Noussair Mazraoui is suffering from complications after contracting Covid-19 during the last World Cup, and will therefore be absent for four to six weeks. In a statement, Bayern Munich specified that he underwent medical examinations which showed an inflammation of the pericardium - the membrane surrounding the heart, and that he will consequently miss the winter training camp in Qatar.
"It’s a huge loss, of course, that he’s not with us in the coming weeks. He’ll have all the time he needs to recover completely. Injuries like this have to be treated as carefully as possible," Hasan Salihamidzic, the Bavarian club’s sporting director, said on Saturday at a press conference.
Informed, the fans of the Moroccan right-back sent him messages of support. The 25-year-old player expressed his gratitude to them: "I thank you, dear friends, for your messages and your concern for me after I contracted Covid-19... I’ll see you soon."
