Bayern’s Mazraoui Absent from Training Amid Palestine Post Controversy
Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui did not participate in the collective training with the rest of the Bayern team on Thursday. Some mention an injury while others talk about a sanction after the controversy over Palestine.
This absence comes a day after a crucial meeting with club officials, following his support for Palestine in reaction to the recent events in Gaza. Despite a slight injury sustained during a match against Ivory Coast, the player was seen training alone, fueling speculation about the reasons behind this decision.
The official position of the club remains very vague for the moment. According to the German newspaper "Bild", no statement has yet been made by Bayern Munich regarding Mazraoui’s future with the club or the consequences of his public support for the Palestinian cause. This uncertainty persists despite the meeting, described as productive by some sources, which took place between the player and the club’s management. Bayern Munich, known for its values of coexistence and unity, has expressed its wish to see peace prevail in the Middle East.
However, Mazraoui’s stance has not been without reactions in the German media. The newspaper "Bild" in particular has strongly criticized the Moroccan player’s action, arguing that he should not have publicly expressed his support, highlighting the risks of internal tensions, particularly in reference to a teammate from Maccabi Tel Aviv.
