Barcelona’s Young Moroccan Talents Impress in Espanyol Match Under Xavi

Ilias Akhomach, the 17-year-old Moroccan striker, was called up with his 19-year-old compatriot Abde Ezzalzouli by the new FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, for the match against Espanyol which took place yesterday. The two young players had a good performance during the match.
Ilias Akhomach, who came from the training center of the Catalan club, just like Xavi Hernandez, is a player full of talent. In the absence of Ansu Fati and Dembélé for the match against Espanyol on Saturday, the new coach of FC Barcelona called on the young Moroccan player whose performances he had seen in the match won by his team against Atlético de Seville (4-0).

Last night at the Camp Nou, the 17-year-old striker showed all his talent in the first 45 minutes. "These are 17 or 18 year old kids, they have a lot of merit for what they do. Ilias and Abde both had a good game," said Xavi, happy and proud to have played these two young Moroccans in his debut.
Ilias Akhomach made his debut in the FC Barcelona B team a little over twelve months ago. Today, he finds himself in the big leagues, playing as a right winger at the Camp Nou.
