Barcelona’s World Cup Regret: Did They Miss Out on Morocco Star Ziyech?

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is delivering great performances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Does FC Barcelona, which had the opportunity to recruit him last winter, express any regrets?
Hakim Ziyech is one of the architects of the feats achieved by Morocco in Qatar. He who failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge and is on the verge of leaving Chelsea is shining with professionalism during the competition. He scored a goal and provided an assist. His teammates and he were able to resist Croatia (finalist in 2018), beat Belgium, Canada who returned to the World Cup 36 years later, dominate Spain (champion in 2010) in a penalty shootout (0-0, p.s. 3-0) and beat Portugal (1-0) before reaching the semi-finals.
While he was in talks with Chelsea to recruit the former Ajax star last winter, whom the English club is ready to let go, Barça preferred to buy the Spanish international Ferran Torres for around €60M and have the Spanish striker Adama Traoré loaned from Wolverhampton, reveals the Catalan daily Sport. Ziyech’s performances could make the Catalan club regret not signing him. AC Milan, who has been interested in the Moroccan international for a few months, could finalize the negotiations between Chelsea and the Italian club as early as next month.
