Barcelona Releases Moroccan Prospect Kays Ruiz-Atil After One Season

One year after his arrival at FC Barcelona, the Atlas Lion Kays Ruiz-Atil was fired by the Catalan club on Wednesday, May 11.
Free of any contract after a brief stint at PSG, the 19-year-old Moroccan player had a contract until 2024 with FC Barcelona. But the club decided otherwise. Kays Ruiz-Atil had a difficult pre-season with his coronavirus contamination and his ankle injury.
His last appearance with the team dates back to March and for this season, he has only played 11 matches with the Blaugrana reserve team. "FC Barcelona has informed the player Kays Ruiz-Atil that it is terminating his contract with the club. The French midfielder is thus ending his stay at the club. The Club wishes him good luck and success in the future," Barça wrote in a statement.
