Barcelona Prodigy Lamine Yamal’s Father Responds to Racist TV Commentary

The father of Lamine Yamal, Mounir Nasraoui, reacted to the racist comments of Germán "Mono" Burgos, a consultant for Movistar+, before the PSG-Barcelona match.
Before the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals between PSG and Barça, Burgos commented on images of Yamal’s warm-up by saying: "Be careful he doesn’t end up at a red light." This racist remark provoked outrage from FC Barcelona and the public, leading Barça to deprive the television channel of post-match interviews.
On his Instagram account, Nasraoui posted a message: "Hello to the world, I just ask for respect for other people’s children. Thank you."
Faced with the controversy, both Movistar+ and Burgos apologized. The channel said it was "far from any kind of discrimination" and would not tolerate such comments. Burgos, for his part, declared: "It was a comment without the intention of hurting anyone. If anyone felt offended, I publicly apologize."
