Barcelona’s Financial Woes Derail Pursuit of Fiorentina Midfielder Amrabat

Sofyan Amrabat has been one of Barcelona’s priorities since last season, but the club does not have the money to pay his transfer from Fiorentina for around 25 million euros. Barça was determined to acquire the Moroccan during the January transfer window, but his club did not want to let him go. Unable to recruit Amrabat, whose contract with Fiorentina runs until 2024, Barça is interested in players whose contracts expire in June, such as Lionel Messi, Gundogan and Íñigo Martínez.
