Barcelona’s Financial Woes Derail Pursuit of Fiorentina Midfielder Amrabat

In financial difficulty, Barcelona no longer has the means to afford Sofyan Amrabat, whose transfer failed during the January transfer window. Since last season, the club has shown interest in the Fiorentina midfielder.
Sofyan Amrabat has been one of Barcelona’s priorities since last season, but the club does not have the money to pay his transfer from Fiorentina for around 25 million euros. Barça was determined to acquire the Moroccan during the January transfer window, but his club did not want to let him go. A decision that devastated the midfielder who dreamed of joining the Blaugrana squad, recalls Marca.
Unable to recruit Amrabat, whose contract with Fiorentina runs until 2024, Barça is interested in players whose contracts expire in June, such as Lionel Messi, Gundogan and Íñigo Martínez. But first, it will have to part with certain players like Gavi, Sergi Roberto, Marcos Alonso, Araujo, Balde... to replenish its coffers.
