Barcelona Eyes Return of Former Academy Prospect Adam Aznou
FC Barcelona would have an eye on the young Moroccan defender Adam Aznou, currently on loan to Real Valladolid by Bayern Munich. The Catalan club would consider recruiting him in the future.
Trained at La Masia, Barça’s training center, Aznou left the club in 2022 to join Germany. Could his return to Spain, in the form of a loan, be a step towards a return to the nest?
According to the Spanish sports daily Sport, Barça has put Aznou on its list of players to watch. The Catalan club, which is looking to strengthen its left side of the defense, would see in Aznou a potential backup for Balde and Koundé. His market value, estimated at less than 3 million euros, would make him an affordable recruit financially.
However, Barça does not want to rush things. The leaders want to closely observe the performances of the young Moroccan under the Valladolid jersey in La Liga. His adaptation to the Spanish championship will be a determining element in the final decision.
Aznou’s future is also linked to that of Alphonso Davies. The Canadian full-back of Bayern Munich, whose contract is about to expire, could be led to leave the Bavarian club. Would Davies’ departure open the door to Aznou’s return to Barça? Bayern coach Vincent Kompany will have to decide.
Adam Aznou, in search of playing time, joined Valladolid on loan for six months. Before his departure, he had only played three matches with Bayern’s first team and twelve with the reserve team.
His passage at Barcelona, although brief (one season), allowed him to rub shoulders with young talents who now play in the professional team, such as Héctor Fort and Lamine Yamal. Could these ties facilitate his return to the club?
