Barcelona Eyes Buyback of Rising Star Chadi Riad from Real Betis

Barça wants to recover Chadi Riad, the Moroccan central defender who was loaned out with a purchase option to Real Betis. The young player, who is thriving in the latter club, should be back in the Catalan club in June.
Real Betis had paid 3 million euros to Barça to secure the services of Chadi Riad, on loan with a mandatory purchase option. But the Barcelona club has included in the loan contract a buyback clause for the central defender for 7 million euros. The Blaugrana are considering activating this clause this summer, according to Sport.es.
The sports management of Barça has decided to recover Chadi Riad who has revealed himself at Betis and has become indispensable for the team led by Ramon Planes. The young player has already played 23 matches with this club, including 19 in La Liga, 2 in the Conference League and 2 in the Copa del Rey.
His good performances have aroused the interest of the Moroccan Federation, which has managed to convince him to join the Atlas Lions. Under the orders of Walid Regragui, the central defender participated in the friendly matches against Sierra Leone (3-1) and Mauritania (0-0) preceding the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, which he also played with the Moroccan national team.
Chadi Riad joined Betis, due to lack of playing time at Barça after the arrival of new central defenders. His return seems to be a good deal for the Catalan club, which will only have to spend 4 million euros for a player whose market value could reach 15 million euros.
