Real Betis Seeks Permanent Transfer of Barcelona Loanee Chadi Riad After Impressive Performances

Moroccan defender Chadi Riad has attracted attention with his good performances, and Real Betis is eager to make his transfer permanent. He is currently on loan with an option to buy at the Spanish club.
Real Betis has already started negotiations with FC Barcelona for Chadi Riad’s transfer to become permanent, reports Marca. This desire of the Spanish club to sign the Moroccan defender is explained by the good performances the 20-year-old player is achieving. After the departure of Luiz Felipe and the injury of Marc Bartra, Riad made his debut in the senior team. He forms a solid duo with German Pezzella. Last weekend, he put in an impressive performance against Betis’ local rival, Seville.
Chadi arrived at Real Betis in July as the fourth central defender from Barça. The club wants to recruit him for just under 3 million euros for 50% of his rights. FC Barcelona retains a buyback option estimated at 7 million euros valid for the next two summers. Reports suggest that negotiations between the Verdiblancos and the Blaugrana could be concluded as early as January.
