Barcelona’s Abde Ezzalzouli Gains Spanish Citizenship, May Skip Africa Cup

The Moroccan gem of FC Barcelona, Abde Ezzalzouli, obtained Spanish nationality on Tuesday. According to the latest news, the young player would no longer be interested in participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Abde Ezzalzouli is now Spanish. He obtained the documents attesting to this on Tuesday. With this dual nationality, the Moroccan winger of FC Barcelona now has a choice to make: play for the Moroccan or Spanish national team, reports COPE.

The 20-year-old player is said to have refused to join the Atlas Lions to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations starting on January 9 in Morocco, the same source adds, noting that if Abde turns his back on Morocco, he could be called up by the Spanish national team coach, Luis Enrique.

However, on his Instagram profile, Abdessamad indicates that he is "a player of FC Barcelona and an international player with the Moroccan national team."
