Bar Manager’s Murder Trial: Family Suspects Widow’s Involvement in Corbeil-Essonnes Case

While the investigation into the murder of Ezzedine, manager of a bar in Corbeil-Essonnes, will come to an end, his family suspects his wife of playing a key role in the tragedy.
"I won’t be sitting next to his wife." Zahya, Ezzedine’s sister, is fuming with anger. The trial for the murder of her brother will open before the Essonne Assize Court, and she will have to take a seat on the same bench as the civil parties as the widow, reports Le Parisien. This will be an uncomfortable situation for her as she has never stopped suspecting her sister-in-law of playing a key role in the murder of her brother, a bar manager in Corbeil-Essonnes, on September 13, 2016.
What reinforces Zahya’s position is that her brother’s wife has taken up residence at the sister of Marc, the alleged murderer, in Evreux (Eure). Moreover, she claims to have made rather compromising discoveries last August within the bar facing the town hall of Corbeil-Essonnes. "I found the phone that the investigators were looking for, a white iPhone, under the cash register drawer," says Ezzedine’s sister.
Everything suggests that Ezzedine’s wife and Marc were lovers. For Zahya, her sister-in-law wrote in her diary that her husband "had sequestered and beaten her." Marc, for his part, had told the investigators that he had helped a battered woman that evening. But Ezzedine’s wife contradicts all these allegations.
For Zahya’s lawyer, "the investigating judge has never pushed her to her limits," which is why Ms. Vanessa Zencker intends to raise the partiality of the judge before the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM). Her wish, she will say, is to make a final request for additional information to the Assize Court at the next hearing.
