Bahraini Producer Denies Celebrating Ex-Wife's Imprisonment, Calls for Patience

Bahraini producer Mohamed Al-Turk responded to Internet users who accuse him of being happy after the incarceration of his ex-wife, Moroccan singer Dounia Batma.

Is Mohamed Al Turk rejoicing in Dounia Batma’s misfortune? On the web, some Internet users accuse him of being happier after the incarceration of his ex-wife. In a live on TikTok on Saturday, the Bahraini producer said he does not wish to see anyone face prison, whether a loved one, a dear one or even an enemy. Also, he stressed the importance of patience for his ex-wife, his second, and her family as well as for her audience, who are going through a difficult period due to the verdict ordering the execution of the prison sentence in the "Hamza mon bb" case.

Following the instructions of the prosecutor of the king near the Court of Appeal of Marrakech, the brigade of the judicial police proceeded on Wednesday, January 31 around 5 p.m. to the arrest of the Moroccan singer Dounia Batma in an apartment on Boulevard Moulay Youssef in Casablanca, where she had taken refuge the day before after learning of the execution of the judgment pronounced against her. After her arrest, Dounia was taken to the Loudaya prison in Marrakech to spend her first night behind bars. She will have to serve her one-year prison sentence there.

In January, Dounia Batma had, in a live session on her Instagram account, claimed to have been the target of a plot aimed at ending her artistic career, and also assured that her ex-husband was involved in this plot, accusing him of having disclosed her secrets and acting in exchange for money. Mohamed Al-Turk’s counterattack did not wait. In a live on TikTok, he claimed that those who disclosed the singer’s secrets were her relatives and entourage, including her sister Ibtissam’s husband. "We all know we’re playing a role... stop playing comedy to Moroccans and making up stories and involving people who have nothing to do with it... everyone knows you," he added, also accusing his ex-wife of lacking benevolence towards her entourage.
