Automotive Supplier Forvia Opens Third Factory in Morocco, Creating 1,400 Jobs

Forvia continues its expansion in Morocco. The automotive supplier has recently inaugurated a new factory in Salé, its third in the kingdom.

Located in the Technopolis Industrial Acceleration Zone, Forvia’s new factory will specialize in cutting, assembling and manufacturing textile and leather seat covers for automobiles. With this new platform, the group intends to diversify the offer and meet the growing demand of its customers.

Forvia’s Salé plant is expected to generate nearly 1,400 jobs by 2027. The group plans to soon inaugurate another platform on its Kénitra site to increase its capacities. This future infrastructure is expected to employ 450 people.

"Morocco, characterized by a continuously growing domestic market, is a country of particular importance for Forvia," said Patrick Koller, the group’s CEO, adding that the objective in inaugurating this Salé plant is to "contribute to the community and to the improvement of competitiveness and development of the automotive sector."

Forvia has been established in Morocco since 2008. The automotive supplier now has three factories there: two in Kénitra and one in Salé, employing nearly 4,000 people.
