Arsenal Eyes Moroccan Midfielder Azzedine Ounahi to Bolster Squad
Azzedine Ounahi, the Atlas Lion of Olympique de Marseille, would be the perfect option for Arsenal, who want to further strengthen their midfield. He is on the Gunners’ radar.
After recruiting English international Declan Rice and German Kai Havertz, Arsenal needs another player to complete its cohort of midfielders. A need that is also justified by the departure of Granit Xhaka, and the poor performance of the Gunners’ midfield last season. Azzedine Ounahi would be the perfect option to fill this gap in the Gunners’ squad, according to Arsenal Insider.
At 23 years old, the Moroccan international still has a lot of potential to improve. He has already shown that he can thrive on the biggest stage. He is one of the architects of the historic and exceptional journey of the Moroccan team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. José Mourinho had even described him as an "absolutely incredible" player, reported Goal. He is the figurehead of the victory against Reims (2-1) on the first day of Ligue 1. Footmercato rated him 6.5, praising his ability to balance the role between defense and attack.
Arsenal has already identified who would suit Mikel Arteta’s team, according to Football London. It only remains for them to find the necessary funds to convince Olympique de Marseille to "sell" their midfielder.
