Armed Gang Robs Tangier Merchant of 4 Million Dirhams, Two Suspects Arrested

It all started with a complaint filed by a merchant with the Tangier Police Prefecture services on June 15. He had been attacked by 5 individuals, who had allegedly held him up and stolen a large sum of money. According to the merchant, the gang was on board a car and had threatened him with a bladed weapon.
Later, a DGSN press release states that the investigations led to the arrest of "two suspects directly involved in this theft, while a third person is suspected of being linked to this case".
In addition, the searches carried out at their respective homes allowed the police to recover part of the loot, i.e. 890,000 DH, as well as the rental car used during the attack. It bore a false registration, reveals the same source, which also mentions a tear gas bomb, 4 mobile phones, a bladed weapon and an underwater shotgun, found with the outlaws.
Still, according to the press release, these individuals are already in custody, at the disposal of the investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to elucidate the circumstances of this case. Furthermore, it is recalled that the search continues to arrest the other accomplices, in this case, in order to recover the rest of the stolen money, concludes the press release.
