UK Appoints Simon Martin as New Ambassador to Morocco, Replacing Thomas Reilly

Simon Martin is the new ambassador of the United Kingdom to Morocco, replacing Thomas Reilly.
According to the British Foreign Office, the diplomat will take up his new duties next September. The new ambassador was director of protocol and deputy marshal of the diplomatic corps from 2009 to 2012 at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Simon Martin was the UK ambassador to Al Manama (Bahrain) from 2015 to 2019. In 1984, he joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where he held various positions of responsibility in several departments, including those of Southern European affairs, security coordination, drugs and international crime...
This father of four had also worked on the African continent as an Africa advisor for Unilever, a multinational consumer goods company.
