Anti-Terrorism Activist Latifa Ibn Ziaten Faces New Death Threats and Hate Messages
Monday 10 June 2019, by
The president of the Imad Ibn Ziaten Association for Youth and Peace, Latifa Ibn Ziaten, was the target this morning of hateful tags and death threats. Several messages were tagged: "long live Mera"; "Jew soon dead"; or "we’ll get you".
Since 2018, Latifa Ibn Ziaten has not stopped receiving threatening messages, and her lawyer, Samia Maktouf, declared "My client does not feel safe, she is shocked and upset, it is the return of hatred in France".
The lawyer also stated that she intends to file a complaint with the anti-terrorism section of the Paris court for "glorification of terrorism, death threats and home invasion".
In 2018, the mother of Imad Ziaten, one of Mohamed Merah’s victims, had been approached by Radouane Lakdim, who had verbally assaulted her by telling her "you are not a Muslim, why do you say you are wearing this veil?".
A militant for secularism and a symbol of the fight against radicalization, Latifa Ibn Ziaten is very disturbed by the hateful acts of her detractors, and confides "once again, I am targeted. I hope the perpetrators will be found and punished for their hateful acts".
