Son of Anti-Extremism Activist Arrested for Alleged Theft of Police Equipment

The Judicial Police of Rouen has once again arrested Naoufal Ibn Ziaten, the son of Moroccan activist Latifa Ibn Ziaten. He is accused of stealing several items belonging to the police.
The defendant, the brother of Imad, the first soldier assassinated in 2012 by the Toulouse terrorist Mohamed Merah, has received, for the 2nd time in ten days, a visit from the Judicial Police. Since Tuesday, July 23, 2019, he has been arrested for the alleged theft of various police items: a bulletproof vest, a uniform and a 7-digit "RIO" number, which now allow any citizen to identify a civil servant.
An investigation had been immediately opened when, on July 13, 2019, the investigators discovered his offense during a search of his apartment.
A few days earlier, the son of Moroccan activist Latifa Ibn Ziaten had been arrested after inventing a violent assault at his home, allegedly caused by bearded men.
Unfortunately, his poorly constructed plan had been discovered. Naoufal Ibn Ziaten finally admitted to fighting with his roommate. He was placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation at the premises of the Judicial Police of Rouen.
