American Woman Wanted for Financial Crimes Arrested at Marrakech Airport

An American national who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol, for her alleged involvement in financial crimes, was apprehended on Friday, October 18, by the Border Police at Marrakech Menara Airport.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the 55-year-old American citizen, who is wanted by the US authorities, was involved in cases of breach of trust and embezzlement while she held the position of financial director of an American restaurant chain between 2006 and 2013.
The defendant, who was taken into custody for the investigation, was arrested and subjected to the fingerprinting operation upon arrival at Marrakech Airport on a flight from Portugal.
She will be brought before the courts, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, once the extradition request has been received from the competent US authorities.
