Two American Military Personnel Missing in Southern Morocco
Two American military personnel participating in the international African Lion exercises in Morocco have been missing since Saturday evening. Extensive search operations were immediately deployed in the southern part of the country to locate them.
The alert was raised on May 2 around 9 p.m. as the soldiers were near a cliff at Cap Draa, in the Tan-Tan region. The Royal Armed Forces (FAR and the United States Africa Command (Africom) officially communicated about this event on Sunday. A large-scale coordinated rescue operation, simultaneously mobilizing land, air, and maritime resources, was launched by Morocco, the United States, and other involved countries. Africom also opened an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of this disappearance.

This incident occurs during the 22nd edition of this joint military exercise, which was launched on Monday in Agadir. Scheduled until May 8, this large-scale operation brings together nearly 5,000 military personnel from more than forty countries.
