The American giant behind Patriot and AMRAAM lands in Marrakech

RTX’s participation was announced by the organizers of the Marrakech Airshow. The American group will have a presence at the show held from October 7 to 10 in Marrakech, alongside numerous civil and military manufacturers and equipment suppliers.

RTX is one of the world’s leading aerospace and defense groups. Its Raytheon subsidiary notably produces the Patriot air defense system and the AMRAAM air-to-air missile, as well as Tomahawk missiles and several interceptor families. The organizers have not specified, however, which equipment the group will present in Morocco.

RTX is already strengthening its presence in Morocco

RTX’s arrival at the show comes in a particular context. On September 8, the US Air Force awarded Pratt & Whitney, another subsidiary of the group, a new technical assistance contract benefiting Morocco. The services are to continue until March 2029.

RTX also now has a direct industrial presence in the Kingdom. Pratt & Whitney Canada inaugurated a plant in April in Nouaceur, near Casablanca, covering 12,000 m² and intended to manufacture parts for several families of aircraft engines. Around 200 jobs are expected to be created there by 2030.

This year, the Marrakech Airshow aims to focus on high-tech defense systems, artificial intelligence and satellite technologies. RTX will meet there with other major American and European military manufacturers.
