American Firm Predator Advances Gas Exploration in Morocco’s Promising Guercif Region

As part of the implementation of its drilling program on the Guercif permits, the American oil company Predator has called on the Canadian company Star Valley Drilling. The targeted perimeter is considered very promising after the first positive results of SDX Energy Plc, which is also prospecting in the area.
This is a new step that Predator Oil & Gas Holdings (PRD) is taking in its drilling program at the Guercif I, II, III and IV permits. In an update note dated Wednesday, February 19, the Jersey-based company announced its decision to mobilize the 101 platform of the Canadian oil services company Star Valley Drilling, in order to carry out its drilling program on the Guercif I, II, III and IV permits. The operations are scheduled from March 15 to April 30, 2020, according to the agreement concluded between the various parties, reports latribune.fr.
The onshore project is operated as part of a joint venture 75% owned by Predator and 25% by the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines of Morocco (ONHYM). Any discovery of gas resources on the Gurcif permits should contribute to meeting Morocco’s gas demand, the same source specifies.
