Algeria Edges Morocco 1-0 to Win Neighborhood African Cup of Nations

Algeria won, Saturday, June 18 at Jean-Paul-David, the final of the African Cup of Nations of the neighborhoods against Morocco (1-0). The only goal was scored 10 minutes from the end of the match.
Algeria is crowned champion of the CHAN of the neighborhoods. The winning goal was scored by the Algerian striker, Tomy Bouseksou. "The first time we were in the semi-finals, last year in the final, this time it was the right one, smiles the team captain. We were very defensive, because we didn’t want to lose." The Moroccans had beautiful opportunities, but failed to score a single goal. "It was a very tough game unfortunately we didn’t win, regrets Ryan Boutagni, the coach of the Moroccan team, to Le Parisien. Next year if I have a promise to make you, it’s that we won’t give up anything." His consolation prize? The team’s goalkeeper wins the trophy for best goalkeeper of the tournament.
The final of the CHAN of the neighborhoods took place in a festive atmosphere. "I’m proud to be here, it’s a great gathering," appreciates Yassine, 21 years old. "It shows that there is a good atmosphere in the neighborhoods, contrary to the bad image that can be conveyed in the media." Another football lover welcomed the initiative. "It gives a taste of sport through the values of sharing, smiles Youssef, 31 years old. It is very well organized and there is no rivalry as such, they are two teams from the neighborhood."
