Ajax Coach: No Room for Ziyech Return Despite Chelsea Struggles

Hakim Ziyech is not a priority for Ajax, his former club. The Moroccan winger, unwanted at Chelsea, could only return to the Amsterdam club if a key player leaves.
"Of course, he’s an excellent player. He’s also a very good guy. But right now, we’re well stocked in the positions he likes to play. We have Bergwijn, Berghuis, Kudus, Conceição and Forbs Borges. If something changes at that level, he could become an option. But not now," said coach Maurice Steijn at his pre-match press conference against Heracles Almelo scheduled for this Saturday.
Hakim Ziyech left Ajax for Chelsea in 2020 for 35 million euros. The Moroccan international has failed to establish himself in the London club, under the various coaches who have succeeded each other. The 30-year-old player is no longer in Chelsea’s plans, who have not given him a jersey number for the upcoming season. With his failed transfers to PSG in January and recently to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, the Moroccan winger finds himself in a complicated situation.
