Ajax Amsterdam Offers $5 Million Settlement to Nouri Family After Player’s Coma

Tuesday 31 March 2020, by Sylvanus

By making this proposal to the Nouri family, the management of Ajax Amsterdam hopes that it will be accepted to put an end to any legal action, reports Voetbal Primeur. According to the same source, the sum of 5 million euros represents compensation demanded by the Nouri family.

In 2017, the player had suffered a cardiovascular accident during a match between Ajax Amsterdam and Werder Bremen. He had fallen into a deep coma from which he has recently awakened. His parents had accused his club of not assuming its responsibilities. They had also claimed compensation from him. But the club had turned a deaf ear so far.

Subsequently, the case was brought before the competent courts. Ajax Amsterdam now seems to be expressing a willingness to accept the Nouri family’s request.
