Three individuals were arrested on Monday by elements of the Agadir national police brigade for possession of a arsenal of bladed weapons, made in a traditional way.
It is a taxi driver and two students from Ibn Zohr University. They were arrested as the taxi driver was handing over the bladed weapons to the two students near the university campus. About 23 sabers and cleavers made in a workshop run by a blacksmith from Oulad Taïma were found, according to the investigation opened by the police after the arrest of the three defendants.
According to the police, these sabers were intended to be used in "criminal assaults against innocent people". The investigations continue to determine the conditions in which these bladed weapons were manufactured, identify any accomplices and sponsors of the two students and all the people involved in this thwarted attempted attack.
