Agadir Plans 132-Hectare Animal and Recreation Park to Boost Tourism

The Regional Tourism Development Company of Agadir Souss-Massa (SDR) is looking for a firm to carry out the technical studies for the development of the Animal and Recreation Park of the city. A call for tenders has been launched for this purpose.
The objective of the project is to enhance and promote the new potentials of the region as well as its tourist dimensions for Moroccan and foreign clientele, indicates a press release from the Company.
Located 7 km from the city of Agadir, the park will be built on an area of 132 ha. It is reserved for outdoor recreational activities and will bring together twelve leisure and entertainment clubs and a central garden.
More specifically, the facility will be divided into four areas with different purposes: the area of animal entertainment for leisure and entertainment purposes, the area of the educational farm for educational purposes, the area of extreme sports, as well as the central garden which will be a place of relaxation and strolling.
It should be recalled that Agadir will also be equipped with a lion park with a total area of 20 ha. The Safari Park, which should, according to the first forecasts, open its doors at the end of the year, will welcome three species of lions: the African lion, the Berber and the white lion.
